Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technology has profoundly transformed contemporary social and psychological life, particularly within Muslim societies. While technological advancement has facilitated communication and access to information, excessive dependence on virtual interaction has simultaneously contributed to social isolation, psychological stress, digital addiction, and declining interpersonal relationships. Furthermore, the misuse of social media, dissemination of misinformation, and violations of privacy have intensified feelings of insecurity and emotional instability among individuals and communities. In this context, this study examines the Prophetic Sunnah as a comprehensive and enduring ethical framework capable of addressing the social and psychological challenges emerging from the digital age.

Using analytical and inductive methodologies, the research explores Prophetic teachings related to human behavior, social interaction, self-discipline, emotional balance, and ethical communication in light of the disruptions caused by modern technology. The study identifies key principles embedded in the Sunnah that contribute to strengthening psychological well-being, social cohesion, and moral responsibility in digital environments.

The findings demonstrate that the Prophetic Sunnah offers practical and spiritually grounded guidance for restoring balance in technologically driven societies. These principles include promoting meaningful human relationships through family and community engagement, encouraging moderation and self-control in technology use, safeguarding privacy and human dignity, and prohibiting harmful online behaviors such as slander, gossip, cyberbullying, and the spread of false information. The study concludes that the Sunnah provides a value-based and holistic model for navigating contemporary technological challenges in a manner consistent with the higher objectives of Islamic ethics and social harmony.
